SHAF Announcement Regarding the Passing of Nancy Hammond Murfin
SHAF Members,
We are saddened to announce that long-time supporter of SHAF, Nancy Hammond Murfin has passed away. She was the widow of James V. Murfin; Antietam scholar and author of the 1965 classic study of Antietam, Gleam of Bayonets. Nancy was born and raised near the battlefield, and she helped SHAF immensely from our early days until her death. She asked that contributions in her honor be directed to Save Historic Antietam Foundation, Inc. Her daughter, Susan Murfin Cardaro, an Antietam volunteer, will personally acknowledge all gifts. She will be missed.
