SHAF Annual Membership Meeting, May 6, 2017

2016 has been a busy year for SHAF! Join us on May 6, 2017 for a review of the previous year’s activities.

It is almost time for SHAF’s Annual Membership Meeting! We will gather at the Mumma Barn on Antietam Battlefield at 10:00 Saturday May 6,2017. There will be updates about the past year’s activities and discussionsabout priorities and plans for the coming year. We will have SHAF hats, shirts and other items to sell, some used books for sale, and lots of fun and fellowship. We also have acquired some Keith Rocco prints of Antietam that we will sell by silent auction.  After the meeting and lunch (see below) Dennis Frye & TomClemens will lead a walking tour to view our recent successes in preserving parts of the north end of the battlefield. Distance about 1 ½ miles, easy pace; please wear comfortablewalking shoes.

Box lunches can be ordered for $10 and choices include Chicken Salad, Tuna Salad, Sliced Turkey, Ham, Roast Beef, Veggie and cheese sandwiches/Wraps,with sides and drink. Let us know ASAP what you’d like and we will have them delivered to the Mumma barn.

Recent changes on the Antietam Battlefield

Destruction began and was completed – in most cases – this week on two of the Civil War Trust’s recent purchases at the battlefield.  Thanks to SHAF Board Member Sharon Murray for the photos.

SHAF Fall 2017 Workday

Our next SHAF work day will be Saturday, October 28, 2017. We will meet at 9 AM at the Antietam National Battlefield Visitor Center. Dress for the weather. Work gloves, work boots. Bring a water bottle. Let us know here if you plan on attending, and check back often for any notices of time changes or cancellation.
